Jobs at Federal Land Agencies

From Darren Smith, for About.com

In addition to the National Park Service, there are several other US federal land agencies that offer opportunities for full-time or seasonal employment. The Bureau of Reclamation Human Resources Center provides information on how to apply for a job and provides a list of regional offices. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service offers information on career opportunities, including job descriptions, qualification requirements, benefits, volunteering, and also includes a list of its regional offices. The USDA Forest Service provides general employment information, salary and benefits, locating employment opportunities, and links to regional offices. The Tennessee Valley Authority offers opportunities to search for jobs and submit a resume online.

Summer camps also offer opportunities for outdoor seasonal employment. The American Camping Association maintain a database of thousands of summer camp jobs, searchable by type of position and geographical location. Two other good sources of camp jobs include Cool Works, which provides links to selected camps by region; and Kids' Camps, which maintains a directory of camp job opportunities searchable by position or by geographic area.
