Rock Bridge Memorial State Park
(Columbia, MO) More than 15 miles of trail wind through this 2,238-acre park filled with geologic formations such as sinkholes, caves and a natural rock bridge. You also can also explore prairies and wooded hillsides. When adequate snow is available, cross-country skiing is popular on the trails. (Please note that in recent years, there has not been very many times that there is enough snow to allow skiing.)Roaring River State Park
(Cassville, MO) Dozens of American bald eagles have been sighted in the trees at this 3,403-acre park. Their favorite pastime is waiting for their next meal from the stream filled with rainbow trout. The park's stream is stocked with rainbow trout for the winter catch-and-release season. Other activities include hiking trails, a nature center and campground.Scott Joplin House State Historic Site
(St. Louis, MO) Scott Joplin, renowned ragtime composer, and his wife Belle lived in this residence during some of the most productive years in the composer's career. A music room with a piano player and piano rolls les you listen first hand to ragtime as Joplin played it.
